Preparing for your first visit
1. Registration
After you have booked your first visit you will be emailed a short registration and health history form to fill in. This is easily completed via our secure online patient portal. This is the first part of gathering all the information I need to be able to help.
If you have difficulty with this for any reason please give me a call at the clinic and we will aim to find an alternative solution.
2. Attire
For the examination it is important that I can expose the areas I need to assess. As an example, for the back this will obviously include the back, but also, often the legs. You will therefore usually be required to remove some of your clothing. A gown can be provided to you, however, I do find that most people prefer to bring a pair of shorts to wear, in addition to a vest top if needed. This also makes doing some of the tests slightly easier for me and more comfortable for you.
3. Access
Once you arrive, please feel free to park on the driveway (if space) and head on through the side gate. If parking on the road we thank you for being considerate of our neighbours. If you are a little early and it is summer (or warm enough!) you are welcome to sit in the conservatory. Please note we do own two lovely cats, so this may not be for you if you have a cat allergy.
As the clinic is in a home setting with the treatment space being in a garden studio, there is a section of grass and a couple of steps up into the office. Unfortunately, it is not likely to be suitable for those unable to do this. Also please note I do not have a wheelchair “accessible” toilet on site.
I am of course happy to help and adapt where possible but it may be worth a call to me first so that we can discuss any needs, or choosing to visit a more accessible clinic at this time.
